The CP Women’s Open is back! Golf Canada is proud to partner with Shaughnessy Golf & Country Club in Vancouver, BC to host the 2023 CP Women’s Open.

We are excited to bring the world’s best golfers to Canada to compete in the 49th playing of our National Open, hosted at a club with plenty of history and a passionate community.

Each year, over 1,200 people dedicate their time and hard work to make the CP Women’s Open possible.

Although volunteer spots have been filling up for the 2023 CPKC Women’s Open at Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in Vancouver, BC, taking place August 21-27, 2023, there's still time to sign up and be a part of a great event and see the best women golfers in the world, including our very own Brooke Henderson. 

The stars of the LPGA are heading back West to Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club in 2020 for the CP Women’s Open – August 31st through September 6th.

Each year over 1,200 people contribute their time and energy to volunteer at the CP Women’s Open. We are so thankful and fortunate to work with such a hardworking group of people each and every year. Registration fills up quickly, so be sure to get your volunteer registration in early.

The Freedom 55 Financial Open will take place at the prestigious Point Grey Golf & Country Club the week of May 23 – 29, 2016.

They are looking for people that are interested in volunteering time to assist on implementing this great event. This year’s charity recipient is the Canucks for Kids Fund.

The CP Canadian Women’s open is taking place at the Vancouver Golf Club this August 20 to 23 and there is a need for Volunteer Course Marshals.

We are inviting groups to participate in marshalling a portion or an entire hole during the tournament.

The Canadian Women’s Open Championship is one of the ultimate tournaments for the members of the LPGA Tour as it always draws the top 100 players in the world. Volunteers will have an opportunity to get close up to the world’s best women golfers.

The 2018 Vancouver Open will take place August 31st to September 2nd. Spectators are welcome all three days of the event. Round one will be played at McCleery Golf Course on Friday and round two will be played at Langara Golf Course on Saturday.

The final round will take place Sunday, September 2nd at Fraserview Golf Course with the leaders teeing off at 2pm to determine the 2018 Vancouver City Open Champion.

Eugene Wong is off to the Web.com Tour in 2016. The No. 7 ranked professional golfer in Canada from North Vancouver finished tied for 27th at the season-ending PGA Tour China Series event in Dongguan. The result was good enough to keep him inside the Top-5 on the Tour’s Order of Merit, giving him status on the Web.com Tour next year. The result also saw Wong pick up two places in the world rankings.

Justin Shin, the No. 12 ranked Canadian pro, was sitting fifth on the PGA Tour China Order of Merit at the start of the tournament. Despite shooting back-to-back 69s on the final two days, his 27th place finish wasn’t enough to retain his position. Shin slipped to No. 6 on the money list, but the native of Maple Ridge, B.C., will have a chance to earn status on the Web.com Tour through the qualifying tournament from December 10-13.

As The PGA TOUR has quickly teed off on its new season, we note that two of Canada's top 3 ranked Male Professionals hail from Abbotsford, BC. Fitting also that Adam Hadwin (No.1) and Nick Taylor (No.3), will be partnering up to represent Canada at the upcoming World Cup of Golf in Melbourne next month.

Meanwhile, BC continues to see its fair share of players in both the Men's and Women's amateur and professional categories holding prominent positions in the Weekly Top Ten Powered by RBC Canadian Rankings.

ABBOTSFORD -- Matt Matheson tries to make sure he has fun every time he plays golf. Some days are easier than others. Take Tuesday, for example, when the 24-year-old West Vancouver amateur rolled in a 40-foot putt for eagle on the 18th green to shoot a five-under 65 and top the field at the RBC Canadian Open regional qualifier being held at Ledgeview Golf Course in Abbotsford.

Monday, mind you, wasn’t quite as much fun. Matheson travelled to the Seattle area and played in a U.S. Open local qualifier and shot a six-over 78. So he won’t be teeing it up this summer at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club.

But thanks to Tuesday’s round, Glen Abbey Golf Club remains a distinct possibility. The top six players and ties from Ledgeview’s 39-man field earned a spot in the Monday qualifier for this summer’s RBC Canadian Open.

West Vancouver’s Kevin Spooner became the second Canadian to win on the Mackenzie Tour PGA Tour Canada when he outlasted American Talor Gooch and fellow Canadian Ben Silverman to win the Syncrude Boreal Open in Fort McMurray on Sunday.

VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Scott Wheeler/PGATOUR.COM) — Ryan Williams, PGA TOUR Canada’s highest Canadian finisher on the 2014 Order of Merit, is poised to take on his local course as the 2015 season kicks off with the PC Financial Open.

Williams, who plays out of Point Grey Golf and Country Club, host to this year’s season-opening tournament, finished sixth on the Order of Merit in 2014, completing the season with a win at the Freedom 55 Financial Championship.

Thanks in no small part to the work of Ledgeview Golf Club General Manager Brad Clapp, a spot in next month’s RBC Canadian Open field will be up for grabs at a regional qualifier at the Abbotsford course on May 12.

Golf Canada rules stipulate that a minimum of 120 players must compete in a regional qualifier in order for that coveted pass into the Canadian Open to be made available to the winner.

Clapp, a former winner on the PGA Tour Canada circuit, made it his personal mission to see that the Ledgeview field cracked that magic number. He is happy to report that nearly 140 players have now committed to play in the regional qualifier.

Usually, 11:30 a.m. at a U.S. Open Media Centre is a busy time because it’s the beginning of lunch. But Sunday’s lunch surprise had nothing to do with food and everything to do with Monday’s breakfast and lunch plans.

“You have been chosen to play Monday golf at Chambers Bay,” is the opening line of the email sent to both Bryan Outram and myself by the USGA.
Because of the 18-hole playoff to determine a winner of the U.S. Open, the USGA keeps possession of the golf course for Monday and sends out these great notes to fill a tee sheet, but there’s one condition.

Sure, Mike Belle is excited about making his debut on the PGA Tour Canada-Mackenzie Tour circuit at the season-opening Canada Life Open at Point Grey Golf & Country Club. Almost as excited as his dad.

When Belle finally earned his Mackenzie Tour status in what was his third attempt at qualifying school earlier this month, he knew right away who he wanted by his side at Point Grey. He asked his dad, Ralph, who introduced him to the game 20 years ago at Vancouver Golf Club, to caddie for him.

The two of them, often accompanied by Belle’s mom, Kim, have played more rounds than they can count over the past couple of decades.

The event will feature a US$2.5 million purse, with 81 players competing for a winner’s share of $440,000.

Langer, a two-time winner of the Masters Tournament, has notched 28 career titles on PGA TOUR Champions, which ranks third all-time behind Hale Irwin (45) and Lee Trevino (29).
